IPCxpert develops, implements, and evaluates hospital-wide infection surveillance activities for acute care facilities. Will ensure appropriate data collection, analysis, reporting of surveillance data, and recommend revision of surveillance activities as needed. We manage and update the review/revision of the Infection Prevention and Control Manual.
IPCxpert demonstrates leadership in the development, implementation, and follow-up on actions that improve performance, we work with infection prevention and control staff, committees, and senior management. Provides corpus strategies and plans to prevent hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) such as; surgical site infections (SSIs), central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), Clostridium difficile, CRE, and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
IPCxpert serves as an advisor not only on reducing hospital-acquired infections but also on documentation improvement, updating electronic medical record documentation, and outbreak investigations. Ensures facilities are up to date regarding existing rules, regulations, and guidelines of local, state, and federal regulatory agencies, and accrediting agencies to ensure compliance with the intent of infection prevention and control practice standards. Accreditation agencies include; CMS, TJC, CARF, State Department of Health. IPCxpert develops and revises facility risk assessment, plan, and goals.
IPCxpert provides consultants to perform NHSN surveillance for hospitals that have new staff, or staff shortages, at any point where help is in need. IPCxpert provides training on NHSN criteria through education plans and “cheat sheets.” Maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies such as CMS and The Joint Commission (TJC) requires meticulous policy and procedure updates, and IPCxpert has the expertise to show how it’s done.
