Long-term care facilities (LTCFs), including nursing homes, skilled nursing, chronic care, and developmental disability facilities have infection control challenges with the spread of infectious diseases among residents and healthcare workers (HCWs). Some of the challenges are related to a deficiency of established infection control surveillance systems in LTCF, keeping a clean environment, cleaning equipment & supplies, kitchen regulation, clean/ dirty linen, facilities evaluation, and medication rooms. Other challenges include compliance with state and federal regulations, including CMS standards and individual state surveys.
Maintaining compliance requires a sound knowledge of such regulations as well as experience in developing specific LTCF programs. IPCxpert provides risk assessment, infection control plan, infection control policies, antimicrobial stewardship program, outbreak investigation and prevention plan. We address the risk of infection among residents, provide compliance with updated state and federal regulations, including CMS standards and individual state surveys.
Additionally, IPCxpert delivers standard training and performance of the required NHSN infection control surveillance such as; C. difficile infection (CDI), multidrug-resistant organisms (MDRO), Urinary tract infections (UTI), and prevention process measures; hand hygiene, gloves, and gown use adherence.
