Performance & Quality Improvement Program

Expert in preventing hospital-acquired infections (HAIs) via determining the true causes of infection utilizing patient safety tools such as; apparent cause and root cause analysis. Perform gap analysis to highlight trends and identify practices with the potential to negatively impact clinical outcomes or the delivery of high-quality care. Additionally, we educate clinicians/providers on the findings and offer the corrective action plan. 

To sustain achieved improvement, we utilize Lean Six Sigma tools such as K- Cards, PDSA, and A3 lean. These tools are used to measure protocol compliance and to prevent HAIs.  

IPCxpert collaborates with hospital administration and clinicians/providers in the implementation, management and reassessment of quality improvement plans related to the prevention of HAIs.  We actively participate in Medical and Clinical committees to present and discuss trends, issues,  & concerns and work with the medical staff and providers to develop appropriate action plans to improve the quality of health care delivery.  

Dr. Ghonim has successfully prevented the following HAIs by more than 50% within 6- months: central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), and Surgical Site Infections (SSIs).
